This Way to Barnegat Bay! Trainers

K8 programPhase two of our successful K-8 program provides the resources to the teachers. Once you’ve hosted us in your classroom for a lesson, teachers are then eligible to receive this full lesson plan book, plus a starter kit of supplies for their grade level. These FREE two-hour trainers are offered throughout the year and vary based on supplies and teacher availability. Once you receive training, you become official Barnegat Bay Educators with Save Barnegat Bay! So far, in 2016, thanks to a generous grant from The Watershed Institute, we are providing trainers to 39 teachers, with a total of 66 eligible to receive resources!

Barnegat Bay Defenders Teachers Manual

Book Cover SMDo you have students who have taken an interest in Barnegat Bay? Are they aware of the issues facing the bay and their own personal impact on its future? If you have budding advocates, you can start a Barnegat Bay Defenders Club in your school and assist your students in developing their inner advocate. Students will receive a defenders badge, certificate, and student handbook. As their adviser, you will also receive a teachers manual from Save Barnegat Bay, to guide you through some great advocacy activities.

EnviroScape® in the Watershed

EnviroScape modelThis watershed model is used by educators to teach students how non-point source pollution affects all life from the headwaters to the bay. Save Barnegat Bay provides FREE one-hour trainers throughout the year on the use of the model and the corresponding age-appropriate lessons. You can then borrow Save Barnegat Bay’s model for up to a week at a time.
